Kindy's Factory Outlet Store opened in 1980 as part of Brite Star Manufacturing Company, a well known Christmas manufacturer, located in South Philadelphia. Literally opening its warehouse doors at the request of neighbors of this South Philly plant, the factory outlet sold the tinsel garland, icicles, light sets, tree toppers and ornaments that the company manufactured and imported since 1932.

Before long, Kindy's Factory Outlet was the premier stop for "all things Christmas" in the region. The warehouse space lent itself perfectly to the factory outlet model - shelves packed floor to ceiling, fully stocked aisles, featuring the latest in outdoor sculptures, trees, light sets, garlands, stockings, baskets, wreaths, crafting items, candles, ornaments and giftware.

As a true factory outlet, it could sell products at factory-direct prices. Kindy's truly lived up to its advertising motto, made famous by Sandy Kinderman, "We stack 'em deep and sell 'em cheap." Over the years, the Kindy's shopping experience became a fun-filled holiday tradition that proudly continues today, 30 years later.
